One day late with the February Monthly Message isn’t all that bad, right? I blame February for being a short month. That, and third trimester fatigue starting to really impact my ability to get through a to-do list 🙂

This month, MSMAC board members will be focused on making our own to-do list to wrap up our year and preparing for the board transition and budget meeting in June. By far, our biggest need going into this transition will be new event coordinators. Some of our current event coordinators have children that will start going to school full time next year, others are welcoming brand new additions to their families and will need some time to adjust, and still others will be taking on new challenges in their work or personal lives that will require much of their attention over the next year. Transition is good though. While our current event coordinators have done a phenomenal job planning events for our group, bringing in new volunteers injects our group with new ideas, engages new people, and brings in new energy.

Over the next few weeks, we will be asking for volunteers to fill specific roles, but we are always open to new event coordinator ideas as well! MSMAC as a whole is a great way for us to find support and connection within our community, but it’s also great for finding the smaller groups within the whole that you and your family really click with. Event coordinators help our members connect with each other through the things they have in common; whether it be the ages of their kids, the hobbies they enjoy, or the things they are passionate about. Have an idea, or something you’ve always wished MSMAC would do? Talk to us! We’ll help you make it happen. An event coordinator position can truly be as much or as little of a commitment as you are comfortable with, and we need volunteers to step up and keep our momentum going.

I very much look forward to what lies ahead for MSMAC, and can’t wait to see what ideas you have for making our group even stronger!

Sincerely,

Amanda M.
