Dear MSMAC Moms,

The MSMAC board met earlier this month after a short summer break, and we are looking ahead to planning for the fall and winter. Despite the multitude of challenges we face in the world right now, our group is moving forward with membership recruitment, fundraising and philanthropy, and safe, thoughtful in-person events. Thank you all for your continued support and patience as we navigate this “new normal”.

After the October meeting, I will be stepping down as president of MSMAC. I have been so privileged to serve on the board of this group for the past few years. While there is a lot of sadness that goes along with my decision to step away from the board, I have absolute confidence in the amazing capabilities of our other board members; I am so grateful that I can leave knowing MSMAC is in good hands.

Since I will be leaving, a mid-year election will be held at the October meeting to elect a new president. So far we have one nomination to fill the role; current vice president Sally A. If Sally is elected in October, the position of vice president will then immediately become available. The board will therefore be accepting nominations for president and tentative nominations for vice president from now until Sunday, September 27th. If only one name is submitted for each position, the board will vote to approve both nominations at our October meeting. In the event that multiple people run for for either position, a virtual voting option for all members will be arranged, the vote for president will happen in October, and, if necessary, the vote for vice president will be held in November. If you would like to learn more about these positions or would like to nominate yourself or another member for president or vice president, please email the board no later than September 27th. Serving on the MSMAC board is a wonderful opportunity to help shape this future of our group while gaining leadership experience and working closely with an incredible group of volunteers!

Sincerely,

Amanda M.
